This is downright unfair business practice! Can't you complain to CASE?
Starhub probably has fine prints to cover its ass, but this is not reasonable at all! Mean mean mean! You guys should write a detailed report in mypaper and let subscribers air their grievances.
I'm a subscriber (but not to Chinese Plus). We could re-contract half a year ago when our two years contact was up. But I told my family let's wait for SingTel's IPTV. Refused to be locked in to Starhub for two years and suffer. I'll rather forgo the few hundred dollars worth of gifts I have no need for anyway.
Sigh. I am not too please with Starhub's service staff either. Finally decided to subscribe to cable TV and was sent on a wild goose chase at three places this weekend.
Went to the first shop, the sales staff did not know how the promotional offer worked.
Went to the roadshow at Jurong Point and the sales staff flatly told me what I wanted was not possible, without explaining the alternative.
Called the operator, polite but also no alternative.
Finally, Daddy asked Shop 1 again and was told to go to IMM.
Went to IMM, finally got what I want, but wasted so much time.
Blah.. hope nothing else goes wrong. It'll be sian + more sian.

Unfortunately for you, StarHub has just announced a price hike for its cable TV service.
